Located in one of Copenhagen’s most vibrant and creative neighbourhoods, our 4-star family-owned hotel is charming and eclectic in equal measures – much like the spirit of our surroundings.
We first opened our doors in 1938, making Absalon Hotel one of the few original mainstays of Vesterbro. Of course, much has happened since then. The third generation is now at the helm and while we have grown from just 11 to 161 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, we still remain as personal and warm-hearted as ever.
The vision of Absalon is inspired by our family’s proud history of welcoming guests from all over the world, many of whom come back to stay with us year after year. We care for our guests as if they were our own family or friends, and we love to share the very best our wonderful city has to offer.

Arriving at Copenhagen Central Station, the wheels of your trolley will barely start spinning before you reach our front door. We’re within walking distance of the most exciting dining experiences in town as well as many must-see attractions like Tivoli Gardens and the Meatpacking District.
Our helpful staff members are local experts themselves and more than happy to share their insider tips to the week’s most interesting gallery exhibitions, pop-up restaurants and store openings.
